Born in Kazan, trained in Moscow and now a French citizen, Roustem Saïtkoulov won a series of international competitions, culminating in the Grand Prix Piano Masters de Monte-Carlo in 2003. This opened the door to an international career punctuated by prestigious orchestral tours. His recording of ‘Piano Etudes’ (Arensky, Chopin, Prokofiev, Scriabin, Stravinsky), released by EMI Classics, caused a sensation among European critics. In 2021, his album ‘Chopin’ revealed him as an exceptional Chopinian. At the same time, Roustem Saïtkoulov and violinist Maxim Vengerov form a duo that is acclaimed the world over and receives resounding reviews.

Pianos Weiss are celebrating the restoration of this collector’s instrument, of which only 150 exist: the Gaveau concert grand model No. 5, from 1954. With its inimitable, sumptuous timbre and telluric bass, this jewel of French manufacture expresses the powerful warmth of the Romantic sound ‘à la française’ chosen by Georges Cziffra and the great concert halls of the world.
